I Tried These Five All-Natural Deodorants, And They Actually Work!Beauty Lifestyle
I have been using all-natural deodorant for almost ten years now. Once the link was revealed between aluminum and alzheimers, I dropped that mass market stick and was on the quest for a greener alternative.
The hardest part of switching away from an antiperspirant was getting used to actually sweating. But it’s what our bodies are meant to naturally do, so once I got over that hurdle, I was on a mission to find a deodorant that would help combat the smell of body odour. There have been some that have not worked at all. But there are all-natural deodorants that actually work! What I have also found is that switching up helps to keep your pits guessing, helping to produce results. I have no scientific basis for this, but it works for me.

You’ll usually find me stocked with at least one or two of these at all times.
Consonant released their deodorant a few years ago. While some people may react to the baking soda in the formula (my husband did!), this worked like a charm for me. Also made with coconut oil, arrow root powder and bentonite clay, it comes in unscented and a version with a slight natural fragrance.
This is a grocery store favourite of mine and my husband. It’s closer to mass market pricing, so it make it more palatable when we’re trying to be frugal, and will get us through winter or fall no problem.
When Kaia released their charcoal deodorant, editor’s everywhere announced they were fans. What I really love about the detox kit is the honest literature about how the process works. Yes, you will smell a bit for about a week, but once you are over detoxing your pits, it’s sweet smelling heaven from there. I recommend trying this now, in the dead of winter, to get through the worst bits. Come spring, you’ll be ready to go all-out eau natural.
One of the first all-natural deodorants that I tried (perhaps even the first!), LoveFresh originally came out with a cream version in Lemon Verbena that I loved! Their new stick formula is as near to underarm perfection as I have found. I am currently using the unscented version, but have a sweet orange patchouli waiting in the wings. And they have travel sizes, which mean you can try it out without as much commitment!
This is the newest addition to my all-natural deodorant arsenal. The smell is divine and different from anything on the market. The twist up cream formula glides on smooth, and a little really goes a long way. The true test will be when summer rolls around, but I am confident AER will perform when I need—I have in fact worn it to spin class several times without leaving smelling like I just did a spin class.
