The Reading List February 2017Lifestyle
This month’s reading list is a short one. But that doesn’t mean it’s not impactful.
Here are a few links from the web that recently caught my attention.
Actor Olivia Culpo is hitting the Oscar’s red carpet on Sunday night in a dress by Marchesa. And not just any dress. The gown, designed by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig (seen above with Culpo at a brainstorming session), was made in collaboration with Stella Artois in the hopes of promoting their Buy A Lady A Drink campaign, which vows to donate funds to Water.org. The custom frock will be made from glassware and coincides with the launch of three new Stella Artois chalices, the proceeds from which will go to the H2O fund. Click here for more.
Emma Watson has never been a wallflower! The student, actor and women’s rights activist has just launched an Instagram handle (@the_press_tour) dedicated to highlighting the fashion from her Beauty and the Beast press tour, all of which is from sustainable brands or initiatives. Looks include a Stella McCartney coat and a dress from Louis Vuitton made from recycled bottles. At press time, the Insta had five pics and over 311,000 followers.
Work, Work, Work, Work, Work
When you’re doing something you love, is it really work? FASHION Magazine talked MEC’s Samantha Kuchmak, the brand’s social compliance manager. And I like where her head is at.
Earlier this month the Better Cotton Foundation released its annual report, including the top brands when it comes to using sustainable cotton. See who made the cut here.
